The entrance

Welcoming the visitors, two armours, each one at one side of the main staircase, guard the entrance and seem to desire to show the way. To the right, we find the Ancestors' Hall, with a big gothic window and the portraits of various members of the family of the Barons of Albi.

The height of the towers, the Warrior's Head (at the entrance door of the castle), the coats of arms of the lords showing the importance of the surname, and the flag itself, are all symbols of the power of the Barons of Albi, owners of the castle since its origins until the present time.

The current aspect of the castle is the result of the renovations and reconstructions made during centuries by the Lords of Montsonís
